About Me

I am a qualified Primary teacher with a PGCE from UCL and a degree in English and American Literature from the University of East Anglia. I currently work as a Primary SEND teacher supporting children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome and other additional needs.

I began teaching in mainstream education in Year 5 in 2019, and prior to qualifying as a teacher I worked for many years as a Special Support Assistant (SSA), supporting both children and adults with additional needs.

Overall, I have over 10 years of experience in education and care, working across a range of settings including:
• Mainstream primary schools
• Specialist SEND schools and provisions
• One-to-one outreach tuition
• Residential settings
• Respite centres
• Home support for families

My work has included supporting children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, speech and language needs, social-emotional difficulties and complex learning needs. I am used to adapting learning to suit different communication styles and sensory needs, and I focus on creating a calm, structured and supportive environment where children can feel safe and confident.

Alongside my teaching role, I also provide private tuition. I have extensive experience supporting pupils in mainstream education, including phonics, reading, writing, and comprehension, as well as preparing students for entrance exams such as the 11+. I also support GCSE students in English (up to A Level standard) and Maths and other core subjects up to Key Stage 3.

Due to a few recent tuition cancellations, I currently have some availability for additional tutoring, and I am also happy to offer babysitting or childcare.

Families often value that I bring a teacher’s experience alongside specialist SEND knowledge, meaning I can support with both childcare and learning where helpful. I am patient, reliable and calm, and I understand that every child is different.
