About Me
I am a caring, fun loving and dedicated person. I enjoy travelling, listening to music, cooking, arts and crafts and interior designing. I have a calm persona and am passionate about helping children grow both in their mindset and learning approach. I believe that learning should be fun and not restricted to just text book learning. Learning is about having real life experiences and enjoying what you learn. I have a 17 year old daughter who is studying Media at West Herts College and she is loving every minute of her course. I have taught her to be resilient, respectful and most of all compassionate towards everyone regardless of race, colour, religion and sexuality.
I understand that each and every child is different, hence my teaching style is adapted to the child's needs and not what is expected of them. Through nurturing each child's needs, their own personalities will shine through and of course they will start developing at their own pace without the fear of failure as each milestone is to be celebrated.
My Experience
I have a solid HR background, however in 2013 I had a career change and have worked in a primary school setting ranging from KS1 and KS2. I have knowledge about working with children with special needs as well as being a general teaching assistant. I am aware of the national curriculum and have many resources prepared for children from Year 1 - Year 6.
I have experience in phonics and the NELI language programme. I have great subject knowing in English and Maths throughout the school years and am always willing to learn what I am not aware of. I have covered the class on numerous occasions and have the experience to plan and teach interventions.
I am up to date with my safeguarding and first aid training as well as being trained in behaviour management, mental health in children and adolescents and SALT.
