About Me

I am in need of some at-home support with my two children, aged 6 and 4. My oldest has autism and some special needs. I am looking for an individual who is calm and trustworthy, vigilant and kind. I don’t need help with cooking or cleaning, just managing the children’s needs. This may also include the odd evening of babysitting and accompanying us out to the park etc.

Reviews I've Written

Reviews written by Amy Jayn. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk members and not of Childcare.co.uk.

Paris came round and made a great impression but before starting, refused to have an enhanced DBS carried out, despite me offering to pay for this. She also refused to provide details for two references or names, providing one email address only, who could have been anyone. I’m not saying Paris has anything to hide but when working directly with children, an enhanced DBS check is standard practice and the refusal to have this, despite it being of no personal cost to her, is very concerning to me. A real shame as she did seem lovely when we met.

Response by Avatar for Paris Paris on 19/07/2025:

Hi Amy,

As discussed privately, I understand that you had additional questions and requests for information. I’m unwilling to provide people’s personal contact details for confidentiality purposes without their consent and would ask that my reviews on this platform are digested as an indicator for my character and services. Of course, the email address that I did provide to you is a separate item, as I’d received confirmation from this parent that she was happy for me to provide it to you.

An enhanced DBS check is not something that either of us, as individuals, can apply for. This must be applied for by an employer/organisation. The standard DBS check is the best that I can offer, this is available to view on my profile.

As discussed, you may be better suited approaching an agency, as they’re able to run enhanced DBS checks on their employees. I wish you the best of luck in finding a suitable candidate for your family.

Thanks,
Paris
