About Me
We are a family of four, with two girls aged 15 and 8.
We have four floofs: two dogs and two cats who come and go as they please (the cats, not the dogs).
Both my husband and I are freelancers in film production, so our schedules can vary greatly; however, I am not working at the moment, in order to support one of our daughters with online school.

Companion-Style Childcare Role – Lightwater, Surrey
We are a family based in Lightwater looking for a kind, calm, and reliable person to support our 8-year-old daughter, as her current companion is moving away.
Our daughter is ADHD/ASD and home educated via online school. Because she is home educated, this role is much more about companionship than traditional childcare. The support that works best for her is someone who can spend time with her, play alongside her, and meet her where she is emotionally on the day, rather than taking on a strongly parental or directive role.
Some days she enjoys activities or being out and about; other days she finds it difficult to leave the house or her bedroom, and support may simply involve quietly spending time together, chatting, or playing games. Being comfortable with this flexibility and gentle pace is important.
This role often suits someone younger, such as a university student or someone studying, who enjoys being playful, relaxed, and present, and who is happy joining in with an 8-year-old’s world.
She enjoys:
• Playing online games such as Roblox (particularly 99 Nights in the Forest and Dress to Impress)
• Pretend and imaginative play
• Calm, cosy activities and spending time together
One parent will usually be at home, so this is not a sole-charge role. It is about companionship and support, alongside some light practical help.
Hours:
Ideally Mondays and Tuesdays 11am–6pm, and from May 2026 Fridays approximately 8/9am–5/6pm. We are flexible and may be able to spread hours across more days if needed. Optional additional hours during school holidays, evenings, or pet sitting may be available by agreement.
Duties may include:
• Spending time together and playing
• Gently supporting home learning or activities
• Simple meal preparation
• Light housework and helping keep our daughter’s room tidy
