About Me
We are a friendly family of four.. Mum, Dad, our 11-year-old son and our 6-year-old daughter.
Our son has Angelman syndrome. He is non-verbal and needs support with most day-to-day tasks, but he is a very happy, affectionate and loveable character.
We’re looking for someone who can become an extra pair of hands within our family, helping with the children and some of the everyday household tasks that come with busy family life.
Mum or Dad (and often both of us) will usually be around, so this isn’t solely a childcare role. It’s really about having another capable, caring person alongside us to make mornings and evenings run a little more smoothly and give us the chance to get simple everyday things done.
We’rel really flexible with what we are looking for. We’d also love someone who feels confident taking our son out and about for activities and little trips independently.
As our son requires physical assistance with everyday tasks, the right person will need to be physically capable and comfortable providing hands-on support. Experience with additional needs would be a bonus, but for us, personality and finding the right fit is just as important.
Ultimately, we’d love to find someone who becomes more than just an extra pair of hands — someone our children really get to know and trust, and who over time feels almost like a family friend.
We’re very happy to be flexible with days and hours for the right person. More than anything, we’re looking for someone kind, patient, fun and reliable who genuinely enjoys being around children and would like to become a familiar part of our family life.
My Requirements
A mixture of hours, could possibly include some school pick-ups, plus some weekend hours where possible. We’re looking for an extra pair of hands to help with the children and around the home, making everyday family life run a little more smoothly. This could include helping with morning/evening routines, preparing simple meals, light household tasks and spending time with the children. We’d also love someone who is happy to take our son out and about independently. We can be flexible with hours for the right person.
