My Experience
One of the most rewarding experiences has been working with disabled children. For the past 2 years, I have had the opportunity to care for children with a variety of disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, and physical impairments. This experience has been incredibly fulfilling and has taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and empathy.
I worked closely with each child's supervisor to understand their unique needs and develop personalised care plans. My responsibilities included assisting with daily activities such as feeding, dressing, and hygiene, as well as engaging them in therapeutic play and sensory activities.
One particularly memorable experience was working with a non-verbal autistic child. Through consistent use of picture communication systems and sign language, we were able to develop a method of communication that significantly improved his ability to express his needs and feelings. Witnessing his progress was incredibly rewarding and underscored the impact of tailored, attentive care.
I am skilled with using various behaviour management techniques and am trained in creating a calm, structured environment that helps children feel secure and supported. My goal is always to foster independence while providing the necessary support to ensure their safety and well-being.
Working with disabled children has been a profound experience that has enriched my understanding of diverse needs and strengthened my caregiving skills. It has reinforced my commitment to inclusivity and the importance of creating positive, enriching experiences for all children.

9 GCSEs- grade 6-8 attained
Nationa extended diplôma in biomedical science attained DDD
