About Me
Welcome to Bear’s Cub House, a warm, nurturing and stimulating home-from-home childcare setting where children are encouraged to feel safe, confident, curious and, most importantly, happy.
I’m Michelle, a Mom to three grown-up children and a proud nan. I have many years’ experience working with children from preschool through to high school and have always had a genuine passion for supporting children to learn, grow and have fun.
I love being outdoors and believe children should have plenty of opportunities for fresh air, exploration and messy play — from muddy puddles and daisy chains to collecting conkers and discovering nature.
Our home has been carefully created as a safe, welcoming and child-centred environment, with a dedicated playroom, reading area, indoor play space and outdoor learning opportunities.
Our Team
I’m supported by our wonderful childcare assistants, Doug and Erin, who are both valued members of the Bear’s Cub House team. Together, we provide children with consistent, caring relationships and a fun, nurturing environment where they can learn through play.
Our Ofsted Inspection
We are incredibly proud to have completed our first Ofsted inspection on 18 June 2026 with an exceptional result.
Our inspection report card recognised a Strong Standard, five Expected Standards, and confirmed that our Safeguarding Standards were met.
We are extremely proud of this achievement and of the dedication, care and professional standards that go into Bear’s Cub House every day.

My Experience
I have experience working in both primary and high school settings, supporting children of all abilities, including children with learning and physical disabilities and SEN.
I have raised three children of my own and have also cared for family and friends’ children from newborns through to their teenage years.
I hold an Enhanced DBS, am Ofsted registered, and have recently completed my first Ofsted inspection with an Exceptional result.

Professional Qualifications & Credentials
* Degree in Health Studies – providing a strong foundation in health, wellbeing, child development and care.
* Paediatric First Aid Qualified – trained to respond confidently and appropriately to children’s first-aid and medical needs.
* Enhanced DBS Checked – fully vetted for professional work with children.
* Ofsted Registered – registered childcare professional operating in accordance with the EYFS statutory framework and Ofsted requirements.
* Safeguarding & Child Protection Trained – committed to protecting children’s welfare, safety and wellbeing through robust safeguarding practice.

Michelle has recently become my childminder for my 10 month old. My daughter is at a stage of being weary around strangers but my little girl has been very content with Michelle. Michelle has been fantastic with my daughter and with putting me at ease as going back to work and finding someone reliable and trustworthy enough to look after my daughter was a huge nerve-wracking step! But I am so glad I picked Michelle, who has tried to keep to my daughter’s routine, communicates with me well, and was kind enough to send me updates while I’m working to put my mind at ease. Cannot recommend enough - she is such a lovely kind-hearted lady.
