Highly recommend

My daughter has been going to Lou's for the last year, starting when she had just turned 2. Eva is very much a mammy's girl and I was very worried about how she would settle, as she hates being away from me for any length of time, even with family members that she is very familiar and comfortable with.

Lou was extremely understanding, friendly and professional from the outset. She invited us to visit for a chat about my childcare needs, and to get to know Eva.

Lou made us feel instantly at ease and showed us around her home, making us feel very comfortable and giving me peace of mind for Eva's safety in the environment Eva would be spending time in. Within 5 minutes Eva was playing with the activities Lou had layed out especially for her coming, and she was engaging with Lous children, who were so polite and friendly, and seemed genuinely pleased to play and share with Eva.

Lou followed this up by inviting us for further settling in visits in her own time, answering any questions I had. Being a mother herself, it was great to know that Lou had personal experience and really understands just how important it is to you that your child is well looked after in your absence.

As mentioned, Eva finds it very difficult to be separated from me, and did struggle to begin with, some days more than others. Lou took this all in her stride, with such warmth, empathy and understanding. Her professionalism and knowledge of early years care really stood out. Lou kept me informed throughout the day and reassured me when Eva had settled down, aswell as letting me know when she was feeling more distressed and struggling to settle, giving me the option to decide whether i wanted to collect her early, whilst assuring me she was happy to comfort Eva for as long as needed if that wasn't possible. Lou approached this with Eva's wellbeing in mind, was really flexible, and offered genuine, personal advice rather than it being solely what was best for her business. We did some half days to help Eva with the transition and this made such a massive difference.

Lou's dedication and genuine care has resulted in a really successful year. Eva has really came out of her shell. She now let's go of my hand and skips down the street when she sees Lou and "her friends" coming. She absolutely loves Lou's environment and engaging with the other children in Lou's care.

I've watched Eva's personal, social, emotional and physical skills progress so much since she's been in Lou's care, and it makes me so happy to see her come out at the end of the day with a huge smile on her face, desperate to tell me what she's done that day.

I'm very impressed with the range of activities that Lou does with the children on a daily basis. You can really tell she has a passion for what she does and that the kids really thrive in her care and trust her implicitly, as do I.

Lou also provides healthy meals and snacks throughout the day. How she gets Eva to eat some of them is a miracle to me, as i try and try to no avail!

Its so reassuring to know that your child is being fed a healthy, balanced and tasty diet throughout the day, learning and having fun.

Lou regularly updates Eva's journal with photos and videos, and a rundown of what she's eaten or if she's napped etc. It's such a relief whilst you're at work to know they are safe and happy.

I also appreciate how much Lou encourages the children to mix but is so aware of their individual personality's and likes and dislikes, it never appears that she has more time for one child than another.

It's so hard for any parent to have to go to work and entrust your child's safety and wellbeing with anyone other than yourself. I'm so pleased I discovered Lous page and I would whole heartedly recommend Lou to anyone.
