My Experience

In 2023, I worked as an after-school nanny for a family, when I was home from university in the holidays. Where I was responsible for the care of 2–4 children aged 6–13. My duties included picking the children up from school, helping with homework, preparing snacks and meals, and ensuring they were ready for any extracurricular activities. I also took them to their clubs and followed a consistent evening routine. My role involved building strong relationships with both the children and their parents through open communication and reliability.

In 2024, I had the opportunity to care for a boy with special needs. I focused on creating a calm, supportive environment for him, where I engaged him in games and activities tailored to his interests to help build trust and encourage social interaction.This experience taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and understanding in caring for children with specific needs.

I also volunteered as an assistant at an after-school club in Balham, assisting a group of 15 Year 2 students. I helped students with their tasks making sure it was a fun positive environment where they could develop their creativity through arts and crafts.

Additionally, I have been regularly babysitting for various families over the past four years. My responsibilities typically included caring for children during the evening, where I handled everything from preparing meals to managing bedtime routines. Families have relied on me for dependable, caring, and consistent support, often trusting me with last-minute arrangements
