Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am 34 years old.
I have 6 years of experience in childcare as an early years educator and as a key person for children aged between 3 months and five years in a children’s nursery. During my time at the nursery, I established strong, positive relationships with the children and their families, collaborating to provide the best possible care and enriching learning opportunities.
After completing my apprenticeship in Early Years, I pursued further studies and earned my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Youth Studies. I am now seeking a new opportunity and would love to join your family, supporting your child’s development and creating many happy memories.
Over the past 10 years, I have been babysitting for family members during both day and night. I am experienced in handling school runs, preparing meals, and keeping the home environment clean and tidy. In my free time, I enjoy reading, singing, trying out new recipes, and exploring different arts and crafts. Additionally, I love spending time outdoors, whether it's going to the park, visiting nearby farms, or hiking in the conservation area near my home.
My Experience
In 2019, I began my early years career as an apprentice, where I developed my knowledge and skills whilst caring for the children and families there. Since then I have worked across all age ranges in a variety of nursery environments including Montessori and forest schools. Over the last six years, I have cared for children aged 3 months to 5 years, helping them acquire new skills, regulate their emotions, and develop friendships.
During my time at my nursery setting, I have completed safeguarding training annually and training related to dietary requirements, behaviour management, speech and language, health and safety, as well as the prepared-for-school program, and many more. I have also received specific training for medical conditions such as seizures and allergic reactions.
I possess knowledge of Makaton, a language program using signs and symbols to support children with communication difficulties. Furthermore, I have gained practical experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), where I have focused on assisting them in their communication, emotional well-being, and physical development.
My Qualifications
Degree in Early childhood and youth studies BA Hon
Level 3 in Early years education
10 GCSEs grade A-C including Maths and English
Enhanced DBS check
Paediatric first aid training
Safeguarding training
My Availability
I am available to provide care from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Please note that I currently do not offer overnight care or weekend availability, but I am open to discussing the possibility of offering more flexible hours in the future. I am also interested in regular babysitting opportunities too.
