My Requirements

My name is Christine, and I am the mother of 2: my daughter, age 7.5, and my son, who is 5. We are looking for someone experienced with children and available to start soon.

Hours are 3:30-7pm Monday-Friday. The hours are a little flexible, so we can talk about starting earlier if that is important to you.

We are based in Victoria / Pimlico. Ideally, you are very nearby!

Start date: soon!

The role:
- School pickup from a nearby school, on foot
- Taking the children to playdates and after-school activities as needed
- Homework help
- Playing games (chess very welcome!)
- Giving the children dinner (you don’t need to cook, but it’s a bonus if you do)
- Bath time

About you:
• A graduate student, teaching assistant or teacher (including part-time)
• Some experience babysitting or teaching children aged roughly 4–8
• Genuinely enjoys children; calm, consistent and punctual
• Looking for a part-time role that fits around your other commitments, rather than wanting more hours

School holidays: Hours aren't guaranteed during school breaks, as we sometimes travel abroad to see family. We often do need help during those periods, though, and we'll build a schedule with you in advance. Occasional weekend help may also be available if you'd like it, but it isn't required.

Pay: Competitive with central London rates.

What is important to us:
- You have experience with children this age.
- You show up on time every day to work.
- Safety first at all times.
- You are happy to look after two children.
- No screen time for the kids and no use of your phone when with the kids, except for essential calls/ messages.
- You are happy to do homework with the kids.
- You are happy to go with the flow. We value your knowledge and input to improve things while following a certain routine for the kids.
- You love kids and exhibit warmth, care, and kindness to them at all times. This does not mean you do not discipline them; children need to understand right from wrong, and we should not let kids do "whatever".
- You are a kind person. Our home is our sanctuary; we want everyone to be calm and get along well. We value the person coming into our home and respect her. We do not accept rudeness or aggressiveness.
