Childminder in Cove Aberdeen (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I have been working in childcare since 2013,I have been providing care and education to children from 1 to 5 years old. I consider myself a well-versed and experienced practitioner, I feel very lucky to have found my passion in childcare. I have completed my SVQ 2 and 3 in Social Services Children and Young People. I am also working towards a BA in Childhood Practice. I am always keen to expand my knowledge of child development and apply it to my practice.
I have now been a childminder since August 2024, and it has been amazing being able to offer tailored care to all my little mindees, being able to strive to get it right for each child. In a larger setting I found my self compromising far more, and now I feel free to taylor my service to each child with more time and less restrictions. While also getting to be there for my own children.
I am very proud of my most recent inspection being a wondefull exsperince, and having my practice recognised as “very good” (report still to come). While the children will always be the ones who let me know when Im getting it right, having the professional verification means a lot. But don’t worrie, my plan is not to stop there I may be very good but my goal is to be recognised as “excellent” one day.
Outside of my professional career in childcare, I have two children of my own who are 7 and 2. We aim follow a conscious parenting style that fits well with holistic early years teaching. Childminding has come to me as an opportunity to combine my love of education and childcare, as well as providing a more suitable work-life balance for our family. We are a neorodivers household, and that means picking our battles and having an understanding about what a behavour is trying to communicate. And that is shared out to everyone.
As a family, we enjoy all things Disney, as well as walks in our local area and venturing to meet animals of all kinds. We enjoy travel and exploring new places, especially trying new foods.
I firmly believe we were not meant to parent alone; there was always meant to be a village. And I hope you will think of me as part of your village.
I am passionate about creating a nurturing environment, a home away from home that also offers the learning opportunities that can be found in a nursery setting.
As a working parent, I understand the struggle of trying to find childcare that meets real-world working hours. It has been a balancing act for me thease last two years trying to work out the best way to show up for my family and the exstended childminding families.
With that I am making some alterations to my hours from August 2026. I will be avalible 4 days a week 8.00AM to 6PM.
