About Me

My name is Tanith and I am a fully qualified primary school teacher. I have taught for over 22 years and have also been tutoring for 1 year. I live in Addlestone, Surrey and have taught in primary schools in North Surrey.

I offer tutoring lessons to children in Reception (4 year olds) to children in Year 4 (9 year olds). I also offer play based learning sessions for children from 3 years old to support communication and language development, physical fine and gross motor skills and early phonics and maths.

I also offer sessions to support parents to help their children to learn to read using phonics, as this is often taught quite differently to how parents would have learnt to read.

My Experience

I have over 22 years of teaching experience and specialise in teaching children aged 3 to 9 years, with experience of teaching children up to the age of 11.

I have been a class teacher, phonics lead, and most recently, an Early Years lead, PSHE lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead in a large primary school in North East Surrey.

Within my role as a class teacher I also have experience of working with children with a range of additional needs, learning difficulties and disabilities.

All children have the potential to succeed when the learning is tailored to their individual needs. Some children need a bit of extra support with their learning, others need that extra challenge to continue motivating them as learners.

My Availability

I offer 1:1 tutoring lessons for 30, 40 or 60 minutes from 4.15pm term time and during school holidays if required.

Parents phonics sessions can also be arranged.

I have some availability from June 2026 and more from September 2026.
