Hello parents ,
my name is Sara I am originally from Portugal but have lived in England (London) since I was 9 years of age.
I truly love children and I find nothing more than fascinating in being part of their learning. I believe if the children from a young age have the right source of learning they will have a better and greater impact in their adult age. The correct learning and various ways of teaching them from the young age is important for their success in life including teaching correct manners and go down to their level of understanding when they are being challenging, giving a child a straight no and without explanation can be frustrating for them therefore l always find ways of talking to them at their level of understanding, which has always been successful.
I am hardworking, reliable, warm and cheerful person with a positive attitude even when things get challenging. I love having fun with the children therefore I always make learning as fun as possible, I love arranging playdates, trips, doing arts and crafts, playing educational games and all the fun things children love.
Children at times can be challenging and some boundaries may need to be applied therefore being firm but fair is essential, being caring/warm and using a low tone of voice is important for the child and to have a good response back from the child.
Rewarding the child and praising the child when he/she does something good or accomplish something it’s also important and a positive way for their learning it gives them the boost of confidence to do it again.
I have experience with Children of different ages, from Birth up to 16 years old. I enjoy working with children and being part of all the activities they have. Being a nanny is a very rewarding job that I put all my heart into. I am also a mother, which gives me all the instincts only a mother has!
Communication with the parents is a must therefore I always communicate with parents to ensure I perform as their wish at all times.
My Experience
My experiences working with children is as follow:
I currently worked for a lovely family as a nanny for 4 years , unfortunately I was made redundant after the family not having enough hours for me and needed to reduce the hours.
Duties were caring for the children and their needs, ensuring they were safe and happy at all times, dropping them and collecting them from school/ nursery and activities or clubs. Cooking for the children healthy meals, bath the children , do activities with them , arrange educational trips and play dates, help with homework , do educational games/activities and more.
In the past I have worked with different families as a nanny and worked in nurseries as an early years practitioner and as a nursery assistant .
I have always helped family members and family friends looking after their children from when I was 16 years of age.
I am always working to extend my career to ensure children are happy and that I can add to their development.
I have always loved children and find nothing more rewarding than caring for them.
I have excellent communication and organizational skills and I pride myself on creating a positive, happy environment in which children can thrive.
I speak fluent English and Portuguese.
