About Me
Hi everyone! I’m Maggie, and I’m looking for a kind, reliable and attentive babysitter for my 9 year old son, Marcel.
Marcel is a wonderful, funny and easy going young boy. He’s very observant, curious and eager to learn, and really thrives with the right guidance, encouragement and attention. He loves having someone around who will engage with him, have a laugh with him and encourage his interests.
I work in the beauty industry, so my schedule can be quite busy and may vary from week to week. I’m hoping to find someone lovely and trustworthy who can become a consistent part of our lives and, most importantly, someone Marcel feels comfortable and happy around.
We’re ideally looking for someone interested in a long-term arrangement rather than occasional babysitting. We’d love to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and is happy to be actively involved, whether that’s helping with homework, playing games, getting out for activities or simply keeping him company.
**Location:** Stratford, East London
**Hours:** Approximately 20 - 26 hours per week
**Pay:** £20 per hour
**Position:** Long-term, part-time
Monday: 8am–9am & 3pm–9pm
Tuesday: 8am–9am & 6pm–9pm
Wednesday: 8am–9am & 6pm–9pm
Thursday: 8am–9am & 6pm–9pm
Friday: 8am–9am & 3pm–9pm
Priority will be given to applicants who can commit to all advertised days and hours.

Experience & personality
* Previous experience caring for children, ideally children aged 8–12.
* Warm, patient, nurturing and genuinely enjoys spending time with children.
* Naturally attentive, engaging and interested in supporting a child’s wellbeing and development.
* Reliable, punctual, responsible and able to build a positive long-term relationship with the family.
Childcare responsibilities
* Comfortable helping with homework, reading and school-related activities.
* Happy to play games, encourage interests and organise creative or age-appropriate activities.
* Comfortable him to local activities, parks and outings when appropriate.
* Able to follow household routines, boundaries and expectations.
* Good communication skills and able to keep the parent appropriately updated.
Meal preparation
* Comfortable preparing meals and snacks for him using ingredients or meal boxes provided.
* Able to follow recipes and specific dietary and food-safety instructions.
* Must be comfortable working with strict nut-allergy precautions and preventing cross-contamination.
Practical requirements
* Able to commit to the full core schedule, with some flexibility when the family’s working schedule varies.
* Comfortable working in a family home and respectful of privacy.
* DBS checked or willing to complete a DBS check.
* First Aid training, particularly Paediatric First Aid, is preferred.
* At least two references from previous childcare work are preferred.
* Open to applicants of any gender.
