About Me
I am a mum to a delightful 14 month old boy (I accept I might be a little biased!) but I am a teacher in my other life and returned to work at the beginning of the month. Our lovely nanny has to leave us for family reasons and so we are looking for someone to take over her role in a few weeks time.
As new parents with our families far flung and who never experienced childcare outside of our families growing up, we have been a little nervous about how to find the right person to trust with our boy and his additional medical needs. We have been lucky so far and now are just hoping for some consistency for him.
As our baby gets older we want to encourage independence, curiosity, resilience and patience. We very much value kindness, compassion, humility, generosity and good humour and want to instil these in our son. It is also important to me that my child is shown how to be a lifelong learner and that he has an appreciation for language, music, art and the great outdoors (the latter will need some adjustments, due to his CF).
I am keen to work with someone with good experience, strong communication and who understands and shares my concerns for my baby’s wellbeing.
My Requirements
Ideally we are looking for term time only day care, but we are willing to negotiate reduced hours or a retainer over holidays.
We are hoping to find someone who is Ofsted registered or who easily could be, although this is not a deal breaker at this point.
We will need childcare starting on 29th September for approximately 23 - 25 hours a week over 4 days.
Tuesday 9.00-4.30, Wednesday& Thursday 9.00-3, Friday 10.00 - 1.30 (our current nanny has some flexibility of adding a couple more hours to this day as needed)
We need a provider with a strong commitment to learning about particular risks to a child with our son’s medical condition, cystic fibrosis, and a willingness to adapt to his needs. Due to the nature of CF, we will need to be informed early if you or any children in your care have respiratory viruses in case we need to make alternative care arrangements. We would also appreciate you being vaccinated against respiratory viruses like COVID and flu.
We are keen to have a little settling in time for our baby to become accustomed to a new care giver and for us to feel comfortable as we transition to a new nanny.
