My Experience
I currently work part time at a local nursery, working across the age groups. I also have years of experience babysitting for neighbours and family friends (ages 5 - 13), but most recently I have been an Assistant House Parent (Felsted School, Summer 2023), and a House Parent (SBC Camp Dragon, Summer 2024 and 2025) for children aged 7-13. These were both residential roles, working 6 days a week. They involved playing an integral role in the direct pastoral care of around 45 students at one time, being responsible for the day-to-day running of a boarding house. I was consistently responsive and able to meet the individual and collective needs of students, despite challenges of low English language proficiencies, with my shifts being throughout the day and night.
