About Me

I’m from Bristol, where I was born and raised, and caring for children has always been a natural part of my life. Growing up in a close-knit family, I began babysitting my siblings and cousins from a young age, which sparked my passion for supporting children’s development.

During my teenage years, I became more involved by assisting a family member who was a foster carer. I helped with daily routines such as cooking, supporting schoolwork, and organising outings, which gave me valuable experience working with children from a range of backgrounds and needs.

After university, I worked as a teaching assistant in a secondary school, supporting students with SEND needs. This role strengthened my ability to provide patient, tailored support and adapt to different learning styles, while building positive and trusting relationships with young people.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve continued to build on this experience through regular volunteering. I’ve led and supported activities including sports, nature-based play, and arts and crafts, and I spend each summer working at a youth camp for vulnerable children. I also currently babysit for my extended family on a regular basis.

Alongside this, I work professionally as a designer. Looking ahead, I hope to continue developing my creative career while combining it with my passion for working with children—bringing creativity, structure, and care into everything I do.

My Experience

I have regularly babysat a 4-year-old boy, typically for 6–20 hours per month over the past 4 years. My responsibilities have included feeding, changing, and settling him for naps and bedtime when he was younger, and as he has grown, planning activities such as playtime, reading, outdoor trips, and supporting early learning and routines.

Additionally, I have regularly babysat a set of twin boys from the ages of 6 to 12 years old. My responsibilities included cooking, outdoor trips, helping with homework, planning engaging activities, and keeping them entertained in a safe and structured environment.

I worked as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school supporting students with SEND needs (approximately 30 hours/week). My responsibilities included providing one-to-one and small-group support, assisting with classwork, adapting learning materials, and maintaining a structured, supportive environment throughout the school day.

In addition, I have worked at a summer youth camp for vulnerable children for 1 week each summer since 2017. My responsibilities include leading and supporting group activities such as sports, nature-based activities, and arts and crafts, as well as ensuring the children’s safety, engagement, and well-being throughout the day.

My Qualifications

As part of my work on the camp, I have completed safeguarding training and hold a DBS check.
