About Me
My name is Eliany, and I am originally from Venezuela. I was born and raised there until the age of 13, when I moved to the UK. Growing up in two different countries has allowed me to become completely fluent in both Spanish and English, as well as culturally adaptable, open-minded, and confident in diverse environments.
I have always had a strong interest in caring for and supporting others, particularly children. This passion led me to complete an Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care during sixth form, where I developed a deeper understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the importance of providing compassionate care.
I also completed 10 weeks of work experience in a nursery, where I learned more about children’s behaviour and development. During this time, I engaged closely with the children through play, supported them with arts and crafts, and helped with a range of daily activities.
I am currently studying Psychology, with the long-term goal of becoming a child psychologist.
My Experience
I have a lot of experience caring for children, which started naturally through looking after younger family members. For one year, I regularly cared for two children aged 4 and 7, helping with their daily routines, preparing meals, supervising play, supporting homework, and making sure they felt safe and cared for.
I also worked part-time looking after a one-year-old, where I played with him, encouraged his development by helping him practise crawling and walking, fed him, and gave him baths. This experience taught me the importance of patience and supporting children as they grow.
In addition, I have often babysat for cousins, neighbours, and family friends, which has helped me become responsible, patient, and confident in caring for children of different ages. These experiences have strengthened my passion for working with children and creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for them.
