About Me
My name is Eliany, and I am originally from Venezuela. I was born and raised there until the age of 13, when I moved to the UK. Growing up in two different countries has allowed me to become completely fluent in both Spanish and English, as well as culturally adaptable, open-minded, and confident in diverse environments.
I have always had a strong interest in caring for and supporting others, particularly children. This passion led me to complete an Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care during sixth form, where I developed a deeper understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the importance of providing compassionate care.
I also completed 10 weeks of work experience in a nursery, where I learned more about children’s behaviour and development. During this time, I engaged closely with the children through play, supported them with arts and crafts, and helped with a range of daily activities.
I am currently studying Psychology, with the long-term goal of becoming a child psychologist.
My Experience
I have a lot of experience caring for children, which started naturally as part of my everyday life. For one year, I regularly looked after two children aged 4 and 7, providing consistent care and support. During this time, I helped with daily routines, supervised playtime, prepared meals, supported learning and homework, and made sure the children felt safe, comfortable, and cared for.
Alongside this, I have often babysat for cousins, neighbours, and family friends. These experiences helped me develop strong patience, responsibility, and communication skills, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with both children and parents.
Spending so much time caring for younger children has reinforced my passion for working with them and supporting their growth in a positive and nurturing way.
