My Experience

I am an experienced childcare professional with over 32 years’ experience working with children from birth to 14 years and beyond. Throughout my career, I have worked across private family, educational and community settings, developing a broad understanding of children’s developmental, educational and emotional needs.

Following my education, I worked for over ten years as a sole-charge daily nanny, caring for children from birth to 11 years. This provided extensive experience in managing the day-to-day care and routines of children at different developmental stages, while working closely with parents to ensure consistency and continuity of care.

I have also worked as a Family Worker across multiple settings within the Wokingham Borough and have both volunteered and worked within local primary schools and the wider community. My professional background includes psychology, child development and counselling, complemented by ongoing training and professional development in children’s emotional wellbeing and mental health.

While raising my own family, I continued to develop my professional knowledge through volunteering with local children’s charities and further study and training. Over the past five years, my work has focused particularly on primary-aged children, including responsibilities as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Nurture Lead and Parent Support.

I have additional training in Nurture, LEGO® Therapy, Theraplay and EarlyBirds Plus, and have experience supporting children with their emotional regulation, confidence, social development and wellbeing.

I am a warm, professional and energetic individual who places great importance on establishing positive, trusting relationships with both children and parents. I take a child-centred approach, recognising and responding to each child’s individual personality, interests and needs, while providing clear boundaries, consistency and appropriate encouragement.

I currently work as a nanny, proxy parent and babysitter for families across Berkshire and Oxfordshire. I offer families extensive childcare experience, sound professional judgement and a genuine commitment to providing safe, nurturing and dependable care.

My Qualifications

I am an experienced and caring childcare professional with a strong background in supporting children and families across a variety of settings. My experience includes working in schools and nurseries, as a sole-charge nanny, and as a Children and Family Worker.

I have a particular interest in children’s emotional wellbeing and development. Alongside my childcare experience, I have worked in a counselling role with children aged 4–11 and have undertaken specialist training including Nurture, LEGO® Therapy, Theraplay and EarlyBirds Plus.

My academic background includes A Levels in Psychology and English Literature, as well as further study in Health and Social Care, with a focus on child development.

Safeguarding is a key priority in my work. I am a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead and have completed safeguarding training across a range of settings and age groups. I am also Paediatric Ofsted First Aid trained and registered with the DBS Update Service.

I have held a full, clean UK driving licence for 32 years and have appropriate liability insurance and business-class motor insurance for work-related driving.

I pride myself on being warm, reliable, professional and nurturing, with a genuine commitment to helping children feel safe, confident and supported while encouraging their individual development and independence.

My Availability

Ad hoc cover Mondays & Fridays,evenings and weekends.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
• Nannying from £20.00 per hour (net)

Ad Hoc Childcare & Babysitting

Ad hoc childcare and daytime babysitting, with evening and weekend availability to be discussed and agreed upon with each family.

Standard rate: £20 per hour
Minimum booking: 3 hours for all pre-booked childcare
Late-night care: £25 per hour after midnight
Bank Holidays, Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve: Double time

All bookings and arrangements are confirmed on an individual basis with each family. Rates are subject to confirmation at the time of booking.
