Hello!
My name is Grace,
I am 27 and currently live in nailsworth. I have a full driving licence and my own car. I have my own home and a dog called Herbert!
I’ve worked with children between the ages of 13 months- 4 years for the past 5 years. In which, I became room manager in a nursery in Stroud and then went on to become a nanny for 2 separate families. Both roles I have learnt a lot to now start my own childminding business.
Growing up, nursery meant so much to me, and I still remember the experiences and relationships I built there. I believe that having a trusted, consistent person in your early years is incredibly special and helps build the foundations for life.
I’m a very outdoorsy person and go for a walk every day with my cocker spaniel, Herbert. I can’t wait to continue this with the children at Herbert’s Home, exploring the world through their eyes. From searching for woodland creatures and going on our own bear hunts to collecting natural resources and discovering the wonders of the outdoors, I want to make everyday adventures meaningful, exciting and full of learning.
Within my setting, I aim to follow Montessori-inspired principles, encouraging independence, curiosity and practical life skills through the use of real-life equipment. I want the children to feel safe, comfortable and at home, creating a warm, nurturing environment where they can learn, grow and be themselves.
I will provide regular updates to parents, follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, communicate each child’s progress and next steps, and offer support throughout important milestones, including potty training. I also have experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), and I’m passionate about continuing to learn and attend further training to develop my knowledge and ensure every child receives the support they need.
My goal is to create a home-from-home where every child feels loved, valued and confident to explore the world around them.
