About Me

Hello my name is Ruby Reading and I am an experienced childcare professional
currently working as a rota nanny and emergency backup nanny across London. I am currently in the process of moving to Brighton/ kemptown. With five years of hands-on experience in the childcare sector, I have developed a strong, adaptable skill set that allows me to confidently support children and families in a wide range of environments.
I began my career in a nursery setting, caring for babies under the age of one. This early experience gave me a solid foundation in child development, particularly in supporting infants during their most formative stages. I then progressed to working as a teaching assistant, where I gained valuable insight into educational support, classroom management, and the importance of fostering a positive learning environment. Alongside this, I worked as an after-school nanny, further broadening my experience with children of different ages and needs. I am a very enthusiastic, organised nanny and my hobbies include baking, hikes and art. I am passionate about my role because I genuinely enjoy supporting children’s growth, development, and wellbeing. I take pride in creating safe, nurturing, and engaging environments where children feel secure and encouraged to explore, learn, and express themselves. My ability to quickly adapt to new families and routines, particularly in emergency and rota roles, reflects my reliability, flexibility, and calm approach under pressure.
What makes me effective in my job is my combination of practical experience, patience, and genuine care for the children I work with. I understand the importance of building trust—not only with children but also with parents—and I strive to provide consistent, high-quality care that families can depend on.
Ultimately, I love what I do because I know I am making a meaningful difference in children’s lives, helping to shape their confidence, happiness, and development during crucial stages of their growth. Due to the family, I’m currently working for moving abroad I am available to start as soon as needed.
