Part Time Nanny Job In Northampton
About Me
***Looking for an ad-hoc babysitter with the potential of a permanent nannying opportunity***
We are based in Crick and moved here in August 23, when we discovered we were expecting our son, Ewan. We are both working professionals, where I am a researcher in the emergency services and my partner works in the private sector. I mainly work from home with occasional travel, and my partner mainly works in London and travels abroad alot for work.
Our family:
Our son, Ewan is almost 2 and we are expecting another baby in April 2026 meaning a 2 year age gap. We have two maincoons and a cocker spaniel. We are strict on no pets being left with Ewan unattended. Must be an animal lover and happy to also do pet care when babysitting/nannying i.e feed the animals and let the dog out for toileting.
We like spending our weekends going swimming with Ewan and spending family time together.
Ewan:
Ewan is a fantastic eater due to baby led weaning and he sleeps from 7-7every night and has done since he was 8 weeks old. We do gentle parenting (not to be confused with passive parenting!) and intend to raise Ewan with a sense of responsibility. When older he will be doing age appropriate chores towards pocket money, and learning manners. We are also passionate about teaching him about bodily autonomy and consent, and being kind to others.
We are screen free and at no point is Ewan allowed any devices and TV is used as a last resort. We encourage independent play.
During maternity leave he went to baby sensory, baby massage, baby yoga and active bears. He currently goes to nursery 3 days a week.
Our family:
We are going through a transition of having two children and I am taking a career break. We need a babysitter initially for child free time but there MAY also be an opportunity for nannying part time-we will be assessing our needs once the baby is born with regard to needing a nanny.
Our expectations:
We are looking for a professional baby sitter/nanny who is available on an ad-hoc basis initially. We have no village to help so this person will fill that gap. You must love animals! Ewan currently sleeps from 1900-0700 and when Ewan is asleep we would expect you to do light house keeping and pet care, i.e emptying the dishwasher, folding laundry, feeding the pets etc. Cleanliness and attention to detail is vital. If babysitting during the day, we would encourage you to go out with Ewan as he loves the outdoors. We will of course cover expenses!
Ideally you will be available on an ad-hoc basis for when we need help or attending child-free events or need time to ourselves.
DBS is essential as well as credentials in childcare.
My Requirements
We are looking for an ad-hoc babysitter for childfree events and childcare support. There may be an opportunity for a part-time nanny position but we need to assess our needs once baby number two is born.
When babysitting, we want his care to be the main priority. However, when he is askeep, we would welcome light housekeeping to be conducted. We also encourage the person caring for Ewan to take him out and about, as we certainly wouldn’t want him stuck indoors all day.
