My Experience

I have worked in a variety of jobs with children. From 13-17, I coached gymnastics to children aged between 3-12. I then started working for a kids camp and have been doing that for the last few years, this job involves creating fun filled sessions with a variety of activities from arts and crafts to sports with primary aged children. I have confidently been in charge of sessions of 20 children alongside my colleagues and created a fun environment for children to play. Before studying at university, I took a year out and worked as learning support assistant in a comprehensive school. From, this I gained lots of experience with children with a variety of needs such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia etc. My role was to work with different children 1 on 1 and ensure they were able to work alongside their peers. This involved de-escalating situations, adjusting work to make it more accessible, spending time with the children working on social skills and all round providing them with additional support. I have also baby sat for local families numerous times.
