Hey there! My name is Sophia, I have experience in looking and caring after younger children from family members since I was in my late childhood and my early teen years. I am currently 18 years old, working towards a degree in English Literature at Newcastle University. I am keen in taking care of children as it is so important to nurture their potential and be there to support them every step of the way to create a positive learning environment for them!
My Experience
I have cared for children within my own home as well as travelled to their own houses to babysit them. My duties for them have included cooking, cleaning the house and the "messes" they create from playing and eating. As well as taking them to and from school and after school clubs, helping them thrive in their education by focusing on their weak points and their specific struggles in certain topics, sympathising with them (because we've all been there) and figuring out a strategy and learning plan that works best with them. I check the requirements of the duties I am set out to do with the parent(s) beforehand and in times of doubt I express my concern or inquire if I'm unsure about any given instruction.
My Qualifications
I do not have professional experience with babysitting as I've only ever done it for family members however I hold a valid DBS check from my time in guiding younger Altar Servers.
