About Me
I currently work full-time in a private day nursery, but I am available to support parents and carers during evenings and weekends. I’m a fun, caring, and enthusiastic person who loves creating engaging experiences for children.
I enjoy getting children outdoors and making the most of fresh air and physical activity, as well as having plenty of fun with dance parties, drawing, painting, and other creative activities. I believe children learn best through play and everyday experiences, so I love incorporating learning into activities such as baking, creative play, and daily routines — and you may even come home to some homemade cookies! ?
My aim is always to create a safe, happy, and stimulating environment where children can have fun, build confidence, and learn at their own pace. I also believe that building a strong, trusting relationship with parents is just as important. I want parents and carers to feel completely comfortable and confident leaving their children in my care, knowing they are safe, happy, well cared for, and enjoying their time with me. I’m always happy to communicate with parents, listen to their preferences and routines, and provide reassurance and updates when needed.
My Experience
I have worked in private day nurseries since 2016, gaining extensive experience caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Throughout my career, I have developed strong and trusting professional relationships with both children and their parents. These relationships have continued beyond the nursery setting, and I have been fortunate enough to provide babysitting services for families after their children have left nursery and started school. The eldest child I have cared for outside of a nursery setting is 11 years old.
I have experience caring for children with a wide range of individual needs, including children with feeding tubes, diabetes, autism, and global developmental delay. This has strengthened my ability to provide patient, compassionate, and personalised care, while ensuring each child feels safe, supported, and valued. I am confident in adapting my approach to meet the unique needs of every child and in working closely with parents to provide consistent, high-quality care.
My Qualifications
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, alongside Level 2 qualifications in Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Understanding and Supporting Young People with Autism. These qualifications have provided me with a strong understanding of children’s development, emotional wellbeing, and individual needs. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
I also hold a full and relevant DBS certificate and a Paediatric First Aid certificate, ensuring I am well prepared to provide safe, responsible, and high-quality care.
