About Me
My name is Hallie Burkhard, I am 23 years old from Newcastle however I live full time in Leeds. I am currently a full time residential practitioner in a short breaks respite home for children and young people who have additional needs. My current role involves working with children from around 6-18years old however I do have experience with children and young people of a younger age. My current role involves helping the young people meet their basic needs as well as encouraging them to have fun and explore their likes and dislikes, this role also involves supporting young people with their personal care.
My current role involves shift work therefore I am not available at the same time each week however I can do some mornings, some evenings and alternate weekends.
I am due to be starting a Social Work degree come January so may have more availability then.
My Experience
As a young adult, I did some volunteering with young adults to encourage them to experience society more and get out and about
As part of my Childcare qualification, I worked in a range of nurseries and schools with ages ranging from 0-6 which I thoroughly enjoyed and I did this over 3 years.
Following college and to joining University, I have worked with children as a Social Work student, talking to them about their likes and dislikes and what might be bothering them and overall I worked on building relationships with the young person so that they felt safe and comfortable with me.
I currently work with children and young people who have varying levels of disability which is an incredibly rewarding job and is a job that I am proud to say I have. I think working with children and young people in any manner is rewarding however most of the skills I have, I believe are due to my current job and the amount of resilience I feel I have developed.
My Qualifications
I have a GCSE qualification in Child care as well as Health and Social Care.
Following school, I gained a level 3 qualification in Childcare and from that I continued onto The University of Leeds where I am studying Social Work as a degree and from this, I have gained a qualification in Health and Social Sciences and should have my full degree by next year.
My Availability
I currently work shifts therefore my availability alternates each week.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.42 per hour
As I am 23 years old and I am a student, I am asking for minimum wage of £10.42 however I could be lenient with this depending on the circumstances.
