?We are seeking a reliable, highly organized, and proactive After-School Nanny/Family Assistant to support our 9-year-old daughter, Lucy (a student at École Jeannine Manuel). This dynamic role requires a nurturing personality, excellent time management, and a commitment to providing consistency across our two homes.
?Details of the Role
?Child: Lucy, aged 9.
?Location: Alternating weekly between two separate homes (East Dulwich and Camberwell).
?Schedule: Week-on, week-off schedule.
?Afternoon Shift (Essential): 3:00 pm – 6h30/7:30 pm.
?Morning Shift (Desirable): 7:30 am – 8:30 am (Daily school drop-off required).
?Start Date: asap/Jan26
?Key Duties and Responsibilities
?School Runs & Driving: Safely drive Lucy to/from school (40/45min). Reliable driving and a clean license are essential. Note: Morning drop-off is required only if covering the morning shift.
?Meal Preparation: Prepare and pack a healthy, balanced lunch for Lucy for the following school day.
?Childcare: Provide general care, ensuring a smooth, positive, and safe routine.
?Engaging Routine & Organisation
?A crucial part of this role is maintaining a structured yet engaging routine that supports Lucy's development and interests (reading, piano, creative writing):
?Morning Structure (If Covering Shift): Encourage calm, punctual preparation. This includes a brief, focused piano practice or reading time before breakfast to start the day productively.
?Transition & Tidy: Facilitate a smooth transition home. This involves immediately checking the school bag, emptying lunchboxes, and ensuring all materials (homework, notes) are placed in a designated zone to maintain household organization.
?Focused Development: Supervise and encourage homework completion in a dedicated window. After homework, dedicate time to supporting her personal interests, such as focused piano practice, encouraging creative writing projects, or silent reading.
?Family Assistant Support: During Lucy's independent play time, complete necessary assistant tasks, primarily the preparation of the next day's packed lunch.
?The Ideal Candidate
?The successful candidate will be someone who is:
?Warm and Engaging: Lucy loves reading, piano, and creative writing. An ability to connect with and encourage her interests is vital.
?Highly Organized: Able to manage the dual-location schedule and maintain household organization related to Lucy.
?Reliable and Punctual: Non-negotiable, particularly for the essential afternoon shift (3:00 pm – 6h30/ 7:30 pm). Availability for the morning shift is a significant bonus.
?A Confident Driver: Must have your own reliable car (mileage reimbursement will be discussed) or be comfortable driving our car.

While we are divorced, we are committed to working as a cohesive team to ensure Lucy has the most stable, loving, and consistent environment possible. We pride ourselves on our excellent communication and mutual respect. This role involves a predictable, alternating schedule: one week, the role will primarily be based at the parent's home in East Dulwich, and the following week, at the parent's home in Camberwell. These homes are not far apart, and this routine is well-established.
