About Me

I am a registered childminder in the Southside of Glasgow. I operate my service from my family home where I live with my 15 year old daughter and 2 gentle, shy cats. I offer a warm, nurturing service in which children are cared for in a relaxed home-from-home environment. I provide a space in which children are encouraged to play, explore and follow their interests, helping children to develop curiosity and a joy for life. I am professional and reliable and I will work with families to provide a flexible service to meet their needs. Children will have daily opportunities for outdoor play and exploration, both in local parks as well as my garden. I am able to provide food (both meals and snacks) for families seeking this option, focusing on healthy, tasty, homecooked options.

I currently have availability for after school care and will be collecting from Langside Primary School.

My Experience

Although I have only been childminding for a year, I have an enormous range of prior experience with children, both as a mother and as a qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years’ experience. As a principal teacher I was also responsible for the Early Years Class provision in my school over a period of about 5 years.

Training including – Child Protection, Nurture, Restorative Practice, Realising the Ambition, Children’s Rights, GIRFEC, Loose Parts, HIGiELC, Play based learning, Curriculum for Excellence, ASD and other additional support needs
