Hi, my name is Lucy. I am a SEN mum to a 15-year-old son and have over five years of experience working in childcare with children from birth to five years old.
Most of my experience has been in nursery settings, where I have supported children through the early years of their development. For the past 22 months, I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in Reception at a private school, helping children to learn, grow, and thrive both academically and socially.
I hold an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce, a Paediatric First Aid certificate, and I am fully DBS checked and registered with the DBS Update Service.
I am reliable, trustworthy, and have a natural rapport with children. I am calm, patient, and nurturing, and I take great joy in supporting and encouraging children as they grow and develop. I truly adore working with children and have a genuine passion for early years education and child development.
My Experience
For the past 22 months, I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in Reception at a private school.
In my current role as a teaching assistant, I support children with their learning and overall development. This includes teaching phonics, helping them recognise letters and sounds, blending sounds to read words, and listening to them read to build their confidence and literacy skills. I also support children in developing their self-confidence, independence, communication and social skills, encouraging them to express themselves, try new things and believe in their own abilities.
I understand the importance of being patient, supportive and encouraging, while adapting my approach to suit each child’s individual needs. I enjoy helping children learn, grow and reach their full potential in a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
