Registered Childminder Job in Exeter
About Me
I'm lucky enough to have my kids on a week on week off basis. I work shift work for Network Rail, and due to my job role they cant offer me family flexibility, so I require some help!
My children are polite, happy, and easy going. My son will be 11 in August and starting year 7 in September. My daughter is 9 and will be starting year 5.
I'm in the process of moving house to make the school runs much easier. The new house is near Middlemoor Police HQ.
My Requirements
This is a split-shift role designed to help the school days run smoothly:
Mornings (from 06:10): Arrive at our home to oversee breakfast and help the kids get ready and "presentable" for the day. You’ll see my son off for his walk to school and then take my daughter to her primary school for an 08:30 start (via car or cycle).
Afternoons (15:30/16:45 to 1845/19:00): Collect my daughter from school (times vary based on clubs, but will be communicated way in advance) and stay with the children until I return from work at 1845/1900)
Saturdays (Occasional): Similar hours, but replacing school runs with drop-offs for football, cheerleading, or social visits, ill arrange to take annual leave, or where possible arrange for the children to visit friends for the day for as many Saturdays as possible.
What I'm Looking For
Someone reliable and punctual (the 06:10 start is key!).
A driver or confident cyclist for school runs.
No cooking is required, maybe just warming up. I’ll always have breakfast, lunches, and evening meals prepped and ready to go.
I will always have bags packed, school uniforms laid out and packed lunches sorted.
I have two dogs, who are both so friendly. An old english sheepdog and a cockapoo. Both are older dogs and sleep most of the time, but its just a heads up.
In terms of the rate of pay, i would love people to get in touch if interested so we can discuss this and i can go into more detail about what is required, school holidays etc.
My shifts are currently heavily weighted to Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I do have the opportunity, if there is interest in the role, to move my shifts so that they are weighted more towards Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Trying to explain a shift pattern is quite difficult so can explain in more detail if there is interest!
When I have the children I don't do more than 3 shifts, so I need help approximately six times, every 4 weeks. Not every day as the chart below suggests.
