About Me
We are looking for a fun, friendly, caring PA/peer support for my sister Mim who is 25, disabled, autistic and awesome! Working with Mim is similar to a nanny role, more information about the role below.
About Mim-
Mim is smart, sassy, funny and creative. She works as a Speech and Language Therapist with a particular passion for helping children with complex special needs learn how to communicate. Outside of work Mim is very creative and artistic, every evening is a craft evening! Mim is also keen to get out of the house and explore Brighton more.
What we’re looking for-
For this role we are looking for a caring, kind and enthusiastic individual who has a genuine passion for supporting others. We are looking for someone who alongside any work responsibilities can also develop a connection and friendship with Mim, someone she can laugh, have good conversation and enjoy her time with.
Responsibilities-
Mim's PAs are her biggest cheerleaders as she is working on building her independence. This can include:
• Driving to and from both social activities and work (using Mim’s wheelchair adapted car).
• Supporting Mim’s communication, medical and emotional needs.
• Helping Mim to enjoy her day, encouraging her to access the community and attend fun, social activities.
• Help with household tasks, such as cleaning.
• Meal preparation.
Requirements
• No previous PA or care experience is required as all training is provided by us. If you believe you are right for the role we’d love to hear from you.
• Driving license- as the shifts often require driving Mim to work or social activities, a valid driving license is required. A car is not required as Mim has her own Wheelchair Accessible car.
• Due to car insurance the applicant must be at least 25 years old.
Job Type- Part time, permanent, paid through payroll with annual leave and sick leave, pay rate £14-16 p/h
Shift availability-
4pm-8pm Friday evening = picking Mim up from work and helping her have dinner
11am-2pm and 6-11pm fortnightly Saturday = waking Mim up, helping her with lunch and then helping Mim with dinner and getting to bed
Please do get in touch if you're interested but these shifts don't suit you as we can often move things around in the week.
