My name is Octavia. Thank you for visiting my profile. I am 18 years of age and I live in the Hill Barton area of Exeter. I am a friendly responsible person with lots of energy and a bubbly character. I have three years childcare experience since I was about 15 year old. I can care for children from two years upwards confidently.

I have special needs childcare experience and I currently care for a child who is Autistic and has Cerebral Palsy and Severe Sight Impairment as well as being non speaking and incontinent. I know some Makaton sign language and I assist the child I care for with using an AAC which uses the Clicker software program for non speakers. I am very positive about disability and happy to care for disabled children but I would usually ideally prefer an extended 'getting to know each other period' before being left in sole charge with a disabled child so that I am really confident about the child's needs. Usually a 3 or 4 hour period with the parent or carer in the background is most ideal.

I also have general childcare experience and I am happy to follow the parents usual routines. I like to play games and children usually describe me as being good fun. I am happy to cook, do light cleaning and other light household tasks for example washing or emptying the dishwasher, vacuuming etc.

I am very flexible in terms of availability and I am DBS checked.
