Happysit
Babysitter in Oxford
My Summary
About Me
I am in my final year as a student paramedic. I have been working in the NHS for the past 7 years, since I was 18. My favourite hobby is going to the gym! I grew up in Bath, then moved to Oxford for university. At home with my family, I have three dogs: two cocker spaniels, Charlie and Benji, and a golden retriever called Archie. I really enjoy going home to spend time with my family and my dogs (who also count as family…).
My Experience
I have been looking after children since I was 16, starting with my first family who had children aged 4, 7 and 10. Since then, I have regularly babysat and nannied for many different families, and I love building trusting relationships with both children and parents.
Alongside this, I cared for a young boy with a severe learning disability from the age of 2 up to 5 years old. This included taking him to and picking him up from his special education school, engaging with him and learning how he communicated, as he was non-verbal. I took the time to understand his individual needs and learned to recognise behaviours and cues to ensure his safety, comfort and wellbeing at all times.
For the past year, I have been nannying a little boy from the age of 8 months. I looked after him from 9–5 each day, supporting his development through play, learning, and encouraging his communication and social skills in a caring and supportive way.
My most recent nannying role involved caring for a little boy from 5 months old, and I am still nannying him now. He is currently 8.5 months old and will soon be starting with a childminder. Alongside this, I also do regular evening babysitting for children of all ages. Overall, my experience ranges from caring for children as young as 5 months old up to 14 years old, and I always aim to create a safe, fun and nurturing environment.
My Qualifications
I am a final-year student paramedic, currently studying at university Through my training and experience, I am confident in first aid, emergency care, and managing a wide range of situations calmly and safely.
I have extensive experience caring for babies and children of all ages, including children with additional and complex needs. I am confident with feeding, changing, sleep routines, play-based learning, and supporting children’s development.
