My Experience

My name is Maiya and I have been working in childcare for 3 years.

I started my childcare journey 2 years ago in a tutoring centre where I helped the children to be able complete booklets that aided them in improving their maths and English ( I no longer work here I left to be able to peruse more things ) . I also began a volunteering placement at a primary school working alongside the SEN children, this was as a part of my college course . Another type of experience I have is after school cooking clubs this is where I provide equipment and ingredients to the children and then guide them to be able to follow and complete recipes which enables them to create a dish that they can then take home , the children I work with here are aged 4-11. I currently work part time as a teaching assistant in a primary school in Surrey ages 7-11, I am in year 3 most of the time but work amongst other year groups through interventions I complete with the children. I work alongside SEN children and help them in being able to achieve their tasks .

My experience from my current teaching assistant role means I know the curriculum well and am comfortable to support with any revision or homework the children may have .
