Adhoc childcare for 8 year old boy with ASD & ADHD
About Me
I am looking for adhoc Childcare for my 8 year old son who has Autism & ADHD.
Brody is severely autistic and this position will need to be on a 1-1 basic. I am looking for someone to do adhoc care during term time and ideally once or twice a week during holidays. I can be completly flexible with this. The perfect candidate would be able to stay regular throughout the year so Brody gains a good relationship. As stated above I can be completly flexible with this.
Brody is a super happy, loving, energetic boy who loves to be on the go and busy doing the things he loves.
Brody enjoys going for walks, baking, softplay, arts & crafts & swimming.
Brody has absolutely no danger awareness and will elope at any given opportunity, meaning it is absolutely crucial you are alert and concentrating on Brody at all times. Brody uses reigns when out & about or his disability buggy for his safety. A driving licence would be preferred but not essential as long as happy to use public transport with Brody to get out & about.
Although Brody is classed as non verbal he is starting to communicate his needs verbally. Brody also uses pec cards or will direct you to what he wants.
The perfect candidate would be happy to come into our home and follow Brodys lead on how he would like to spend the day whether that be relaxing at home or out & about.
We are are very friendly, super laid back family and would love to hear from you.
My Requirements
I am looking for someone to help look after my autistic son during school holidays.
Brody is a 7 year old energetic, happy and loving boy that requires someone to be alert when looking after him as being autistic and non verbal he does have a tendency to run & do his own thing. Brody loves his routine so getting to know the person taking care of him needs to be a continuous thing throughout the year and not just limited to holidays, so the ideal candidate would have to be able to accommodate this and be able to spend time with him throughout term time as well (just a couple of hours here and there; this can be flexible). The ideal candidate needs to be:
* Able to do 1/2 days per week during holidays
* Be alert and have their wits about them
* Ideally able to drive but not essential
* Experience in special needs is not essential
* Good rate of pay
