My Summary
About Me
Hi, I'm Kelly, and I live in Cadbury Heath with my wife, Hannah, and Hannah's two youngest children, Lani (17) and Wyatt (19).
We also have a daft ginger cat called Orange Juice (OJ), along with a gecko, a bearded dragon and a tortoise. All of our pets are safely housed away from the children's areas and are only introduced when appropriate and with parental permission.
At Kelly's Caterpillars, I provide a warm, friendly, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, happy and valued. I believe children learn best through play, so I offer a wide range of fun, educational, child-led activities tailored to each child's interests and stage of development.
Our days include plenty of outdoor play, messy play, crafts, baking, themed activities, stories, music and regular outings, giving children lots of opportunities to explore, discover and learn.
My aim is to help every child grow in confidence, develop their independence, build positive friendships and gain the skills they need for a happy and successful transition to school. I work closely with parents to ensure every child receives the care, support and encouragement they need to thrive.
My Experience
I have always had a passion for caring for others. Before becoming a childminder, I was a kinship foster carer and worked in a dementia care home for four and a half years, where I developed valuable skills in providing compassionate, person-centred care.
I also have four stepchildren and lots of nieces and nephews, giving me many years of hands-on experience caring for children of different ages and personalities.
I became a registered childminder last year and haven't looked back. I absolutely love what I do and am passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children can learn, play and thrive. Every day brings something new, and I enjoy supporting each child as they grow in confidence, develop new skills and reach their individual milestones.
