My Summary

My Experience

After moving to Norwich, I was lucky enough to secure a job as a nursery assistant. This involved looking after the children while they are in our care. Usually, the children I'm with are from the ages of 2-4 years old but I have been in the baby room with the under twos also. I worked here until I was lucky enough to secure a job in a fostering agency. Where I am now working as a social work apprentice.


During lockdown, I worked as a before and after school nanny for an eight year old girl. This included dropping her off to school to ensure a smooth transition, then collecting her later and caring for her until her mum would return. The little girl I looked after was very artistic so caring for her involved lots of creative activities to keep her busy!

From January 2017 to February 2019 I worked 4/5 mornings a week as a Tumble Tots leader which included deputising for the manager. This included supporting children attending our sessions, leading sessions and providing support to the parents. I was also responsible for the majority of the administration. Sadly, this closed due to lockdown.

I worked as a midday assistant from July 2015 until December 2016 at a local primary school. This role involved supervising the children during their lunch break both in the school hall while they were eating and on the playground during their playtime. I also had responsibility for a year two class.

From September 2013 until July 2015, I was given the opportunity to study Level 3 Health and Social Care. I attended various placements in schools and nurseries.

From September 2010 until July 2011, I studied Level 2 Childcare and Education in college and as part of the course I spent two days a week of the academic year in a nursery school for children ages 2-3 1/2 years old.

I have worked in a leisure centre as a creche assistant where I worked with children aged from three weeks to eight years.

I have also been a babysitter for two girls for four years when they grew older-the youngest of whom has a visual impairment and I have been trained to prompt and administer medication.

I have also been a babysitter for a fostering agency where I babysit children and teenagers whom are in foster care whilst their carer are either being given training or just need a break.

For six months I worked in a primary school working 1:1 with children with learning difficulties.

My Qualifications

Currently studying for my Social work degree with Open University.

My other qualifications include:

BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 Grade A* (equivalent)

CACHE Childcare and Education Level 2 Grade C

BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 Grade C (equivalent) .

St Johns First Aid Certificate

My Availability

Generally mornings and evenings. I can do the occasional Saturday.

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
