About Me
I am offering babysitting services for children of all ages (and also adults who require care & supervision) in their own homes (or hotel room if you are on holiday) and on daytime outings. I am a warm, experienced, responsible, caring and fun-loving 40-ish (!) year-old individual. I particularly enjoy reading bedtime stories! I have a clean DBS enhanced certificate a clean driving licence and my own car (although you will need to provide children’s car seats/booster seats if required). I am also a strong swimmer and undertook my RLSS Bronze Medallion for my Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at secondary school and worked as a pool lifeguard as a sixth form and university student.
My Experience
I have been providing occasional babysitting services since my teens - I turn 40 in 2025! I have experience with children of all ages from babies through to teens, including my own nephew (now 3) and baby niece, and various preschool and primary school aged children over the years. I have been a pool lifeguard, police officer, youth worker and registered nurse (adult general) (not all at the same time! But all have provided me with extensive safeguarding and first aid training).
My Qualifications
Safeguarding Children & Young People - Level 2 (March 2025).
Extensive first aid training over past 25-30 years through extracurricular activities at secondary school and subsequent employment (including RLSS Bronze Medallion and National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification around year 2000 and further Life Saving training during Police training in 2008; yearly Basic Life Support training during nurse training which finished in 2023; Baby Resuscitation Training with Cardiac Action Group).
Will be updating First Aid certification with the following St John’s courses: 3-hour Essential First Aid Children & Infants in April 2025, 3-day Emergency First Aid at Work in May 2025, and 2-day Paediatric First Aid in June 2025.
DBS check in progress as of February 2025 (previous check 2023, clean).
