About Me
Hi there! I am a childminder based in Berrylands, Surbiton with lots of education experience. Our family consists of myself and my partner (a proud Scotsman!) and our children who are 13, 11 and 1. We also have some fur babies in our cuddly cats and two fluffy white bunnies, Snowy and Cloudy.
We have plenty of space, a large garden and are close to a large nature reserve where we spend a lot of our time, come rain or shine :)
I take an individualistic approach to childcare, believing no child is the same and each come with their unique personalities and needs. I feel these are to be cherished, nurtured and celebrated. I believe in both organised and free-play - and tons and tons of imagination.
We have a wide range of equipment and play resources (indoor and outdoor) for all age groups. Having said that, we try to make the most of the very best source of toys and fun - Mother Nature.
My Experience
I have plenty of Early Years experience, having helped to run a Pre-School for over 6 years - Early Years is a wonderfully fun and adventurous age group. In addition, I also have UK & international education experience which has enriched my understanding of different educational approaches and strategies.
In my previous life I was an HR Director (but don't hold it against me) and was fortunate enough to travel extensively. I try to bring what I learned from this into the household and celebrate different traditions and cultures.
My Qualifications
Early Years care qualifications, First Aid trained (former First Aid Instructor), Safeguarding, educated to Masters Degree in another field.
