My Summary
About Me
As of the 26/05/21, no longer looking. Thank you. Hi there, my name is Emma . I am 49 years old and live in Chessington with my partner of 20+ years, Matt and our daughter. I have been nannying now for over 25 years and have experience with newborns right up to 17 years old. Very varied !! My 16 year old daughter has kept me young at heart, even if she has added a large amount of grey hairs to the already existing ones ! Over the years i have proved myself to be a competent, trustworthy, reliable nanny. I`m outgoing and bubbly and probably a bit of a big kid at heart! I enjoy exercise classes, reading, listening to varied genres of music, football ( watching, not playing ! ) travelling and visiting nice restaurants. If you read through my profile and feel that I could be the right fit for your family, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks.
My Experience
I currently work for a family in Raynes Park, looking after 2 children, 4 days a week. Unfortunately children grow up and as of October 2025 my current family will only need me 2 full days a week. I have worked for this family since June 2025, starting with an 11 month old progressing to today where I look after a 6 year old and an almost 4 year old. I do the usual nanny duties, i.e., school/nursery runs, washing/ironing the children's clothes and bedding, library/playgroup trips, cooking fresh meals....generally keeping the children happy, content and safe. In turn this allows Mum and Dad to go off to work knowing their children are in safe hands. Previous to this, I had two jobs, one for two days and one for three days. The two day job was in Ashtead where they had three children, one in nursery and two in primary school. Whilst I only had sole charge of the children during school holidays, inset days, sick days, etc my days were still busy doing nanny duties such as washing and ironing the children's clothes and bedding, tidying bedrooms and a playroom, planning meals and packed lunches and organising playdates. This job came to an end when the 3 children attended full time school and the families circumstances changed. The three day job which ran alongside this one was initially in Thames Ditton, but moved to Walton on the Hill when the family relocated. I started with sole charge of one child, then Mum had twins, which I was very hands on with. Whilst Mum was on maternity leave we would alternate child caring duties meaning the older child always kept quality time with Mum and she knew the twins were in safe capable hands.
.
doing 2 days a week for one and 3 days for the other. Unfortunately one families circumstances have now changed and they can no longer keep me on. I will be continuing with my 3 day role and am currently looking to fill 1 full day.
The family I’m leaving I’ve worked for since March 2017. They have 3 children, 2 at primary school and 1 at secondary school, so I only have sole charge of them in school holidays, inset days, sick days, etc. When the children are at school I do things around the house and for the family, i.e. children’s beds, bedrooms and playroom, shopping, car to garage, dry cleaning runs, etc.
The family I’m staying with I’ve been working for since June of 2020. They have 1 child, 17 months, and although the parents are currently working from home on the days I am in work I have sole charge. I do all the normal nannying duties, i.e. cooking, going out for walks or to the playground, painting and drawing, just generally keeping the little one happy, occupied and stimulated.
Before the 2 positions mentioned above I had a 2 day sole charge job, running alongside the job I am now leaving. This started in May 2018 and continued on until March 2020. Initially I was employed to look after 1 child, but then Mum became pregnant with twins and when they arrived we shared the childcare, meaning Mum could still have quality time with the older child knowing the twins were safely cared for. Unfortunately on Mum returning to work the family required a full time nanny and as I had a commitment to my other family, I could not accept this role.
Previous to the above mentioned jobs, I worked for a family from January 2015 to May 2018, that started as a full time sole charge role, then went down to a 3 day sole charge role. This prompted me to start the 2 day role with the family I am now leaving. The little girl was 11 months when I started, but again when a new addition arrived and work commitments resumed they needed someone full time and as I had already been committed to the other family for a length of time I had to find new employment. Before this I worked for a family in Putney from 2002 until 2015. When i started the 2 boys were 5 and almost 3 years old and consisted of the usual nannying duties of nursery/school drop offs and pick ups, play dates, cooking, keeping the children's things clean, neat and tidy, etc. Of course towards the end it was much more of a housekeeping role although I was still employed to keep an eye on 2 teenage boys in the holidays, which was a completely different challenge !
Before that i was with a family for almost 5 years, who had 3 boys. At the start i looked after their son, 4 months, with a boy from another family, 3 months. When the mother became pregnant with her second child she wanted a sole nanny for her family, so i stayed with them. The 3 rd son arrived some time later and i stayed with the family until they relocated to another part of the country. I am now godmother to their 4 child and still see them as often as they can squeeze me into their busy schedules !
Back in 1994 i worked for a Swedish family who were relocating to London from Switzerland. They had a daughter of 2 years old, that i had sole charge of, and when their son was born i had a very hands on role with him too. Stopped working for the family in a full time capacity when the children started to attend nursery/school, but a 3 rd son was born and i worked for them part time, babysat and looked after the children when the parents traveled.
