About Me
Hi, I’m Jess, im 20 and currently a Psychology student at the University of Liverpool. I have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). I have worked as both a SEN Teaching Assistant and a Playworker, supporting children with a range of additional needs and helping to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
During the summer, I am available for babysitting, childcare, and family support, particularly for families with SEN children. I am patient, reliable, and confident supporting children with communication difficulties, autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. I hold ProAct SCIP, epilepsy, and paediatric first aid training and am passionate about helping children develop confidence and independence while ensuring they feel safe and supported.
My Experience
I have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, where I supported students with diverse learning needs, assisted in lesson delivery, and help create an inclusive classroom environment. Through this role, I gained valuable hands-on experience in education, which aligns with my goal of becoming an SEN teacher. My time as a Playworker has been valuable in teaching me the importance of play, especially for SEND children. I am also responsible for administering first aid and I am a fire Marshall. I also hold a Level 2 Cambridge National in Child Development, which has provided me with a strong foundation in understanding child growth, development, and care.
My Qualifications
I hold a full DBS check. I am fully emergency paediatric first aid trained (including epilepsy awareness), trained in behaviour management through the PROACT-SCIPr methodology, trained in safeguarding and personal care/dignity of vulnerable young people, and hold a level 1 certificate in food hygiene and safety.
My Availability
I am available for work during the summer holidays.
