Hello! I’m Maria Jose, a caring and reliable nanny with over 4 years’ experience looking after children from 3 months to toddler age. I create a safe, fun, and nurturing space where little ones can grow, learn, and explore.
Fluent in English and Spanish (I am from Costa Rica, my husband is British), I love introducing a second language through songs, stories, and play.

My Experience
My childcare journey began in 2013 as an Au Pair in Colorado, USA, caring full-time for a baby girl from 3 months to 2.5 years old.
I’ve worked from 2022 to 2024 as a private nanny in Ireland for two wonderful families, caring for little ones from infancy through early toddlerhood.
I’m passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, building strong routines, supporting emotional well-being, and encouraging early development through play-based learning. One of my special joys is introducing Spanish in fun, interactive ways, through songs, stories, games, and everyday conversation, so children develop an ear for a second language from an early age.
My Qualifications
I may not hold formal childcare qualifications yet, but I bring patience, dedication, and a genuine love for teaching and supporting young children, along with a proven track record of helping them thrive in their developmental milestones.
My Availability
Currently, I work in a café once a week and volunteer at a nursery in Braunton twice a week. My availability can be adjusted to suit the family’s needs.
