My Summary
Broughton Bears Childminding
About Me
Hello! We’re Chris and Claire, a husband-and-wife team of CIW-registered childminders based in Broughton Village, North Wales. We work from our family home, offering a warm, welcoming setting where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
We’re both individually registered with our own policies and paperwork, but we co-mind together—giving your child the benefit of two experienced childminders in a home-from-home, family-focused environment.
We have children of our own: our daughter born in 2018 and our son born in 2021. This gives us a real understanding of the joys and challenges of parenting, and the importance of finding the right childcare where your child feels at home.
Our setting includes a dedicated playroom designed with children in mind. It’s full of resources for imaginative and role play—kitchens, dolls, dress-up, small world play, and more—offering children the space to explore, create, and pretend. We also have a cosy reading corner for quiet time or one-to-one moments.
Crafts and messy play are usually done at the kitchen table, where we also enjoy baking, sensory activities, and mealtimes together.
Our approach is very much child-led. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, seen, and supported in exploring their own interests. Whether they want to build, pretend, run, draw, or just snuggle up with a book—we follow their lead and support their individual development through meaningful play.
Outside of our setting, we love getting out and about with the children. This includes visits to local parks, toddler groups, libraries, nature walks, and soft play centres. We aim to offer a good balance of structure, freedom, and fresh air, always guided by the children's interests and comfort.
