My Requirements

I’m a nurse and a co-parent, looking for a reliable, caring and trustworthy person to provide overnight care for my son in my home while I work night shifts.

I work three night shifts per week, from approximately 7:00pm to 8:00am (13 hours).

My son spends two weeks with me and two weeks with his dad each month, so I would only require childcare during the weeks that he is staying with me. This would usually mean 3 overnight shifts per week for 2 weeks of the month (around 6 nights per month).

My son sleeps well and is usually asleep for most of the night, so the main responsibility would be to be present in the house overnight, ensure he is safe and settled, attend to him if he wakes or needs anything, and help with his morning routine until I return from work.

As I am a nurse working shifts and on a limited income, I am looking for someone who would be comfortable agreeing a reasonable and affordable regular overnight rate, rather than a standard hourly daytime rate for all 13 hours.

I would ideally like someone who is:
* Reliable and punctual, as I need to leave for my nursing shifts on time
* Caring, patient and comfortable looking after a child overnight
* Experienced with children
* Able to provide references
* DBS checked or willing to provide the appropriate background checks
* Comfortable committing to a regular arrangement of approximately 6 nights per month

The exact nights may vary depending on my nursing rota (no weekend and normally fixed Monday and Thursday), so some flexibility would be appreciated. I would provide my rota in advance whenever possible.

I’m hoping to find someone we can build a good, trusting and long-term relationship with, as having dependable childcare is very important for me to be able to continue working my nursing shifts.
