My Requirements

We’re looking for a caring and proactive part-time nanny to join our family in Colchester. Our baby boy is 5 months old — he’s exclusively breastfed (EBF), contact naps at the moment, and hasn’t started solids yet.

Start date: March 2026 (or as soon as possible)

Schedule: 3 days per week — Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Hours: 10am – 4pm (some flexibility possible)

This role runs until at least September, when our little one is due to start nursery. However, we’re likely to defer his place until he’s around 2 years old. If we find the right person, we’d love this to become a longer-term role to ensure consistency in his care.

**About the role**

We’d appreciate help preparing a simple vegetarian lunch and light housekeeping (particularly while he’s still contact napping and spending time with mum during the day).

We’re gradually encouraging more bottle feeds and independent naps, though we don’t plan to do formal sleep training at this stage.

A possible daily rhythm (open to your suggestions):

10:00–11:00: Playtime with nanny
11:00–11:30: Bottle feed with nanny
11:30–13:00: Walk and nap with nanny or dad
13:00–14:00: Playtime with mum or dad
14:00–15:00: Contact nap with mum
15:00–16:00: Playtime with nanny

**What we’re looking for**

* Warm, reliable and engaging personality
* Proactive in suggesting age-appropriate activities that support mental, emotional and physical development - including sensory play, reading, and singing
* We operate a screen-free policy: strictly no use of phones or screens when with him. We would expect you to be fully present and engaged with him
* Happy to become part of the family and collaborate as our baby grows
* Montessori (or similar approach) experience is a plus
* BSL is a plus
* Non-smoker
* We can’t accommodate a nanny’s own children for this position

* Location: Colchester (please note whether you drive or need public transport)
* We plan to use tax-free childcare credits
* Open to sponsoring Ofsted registration for the right candidate
