*I am currently away at uni in the Netherlands, but I am back for the whole month of January to work! My availability will be based on when I am free in January.
Hey, I’m Erica! I’m 18 and I’ve grown up in Stonehaven my whole life. I love cycling and learning. My favourite subject is Philosophy, but I also love English, Psychology, and French. After university, I hope to work with a new emerging scheme that introduces philosophy to primary school students. I also adore nature and camping!
My Experience
For the past two years, I have led a school club for children aged 5–11, focused on nurturing both physical activity and emotional intelligence. Through sports, we worked on developing teamwork, effective communication with adults and peers especially when managing difficult emotions and building a strong, confident mindset to every activity! I was also a Brownie volunteer for 5 months and have completed the training.
I am passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment where children can grow not just academically, but personally. My goal is to help them become confident, self-aware individuals who are prepared to learn and adapt in the world around them.
As someone who was once a very shy student, I understand how challenging it can be to gain confidence in a school setting. I had to discover my own confidence over time, and now I’m deeply motivated to be the kind of supportive presence I needed to become someone who inspires a love of learning and helps children believe in themselves.
My Qualifications
I have completed my IGCSE: physics, maths, media studies, English literature and language and I’m currently finishing up my IB qualifications: Psychology, Biology, English literature and language, French, Philosophy, and Maths.
