My Requirements

We are looking for a warm, caring, and reliable individual who is fun, adventurous, and patient. Flexibility is essential, as our schedule can be unpredictable due to my freelance work. Ideally, you will have your own car and a full driving licence, and be comfortable around animals—we have two friendly dogs. We hope to find someone who would be interested in a long term flexible arrangement. Although currently we are looking for a few days/weeks here and there, the work will get more regular once I am back to work on a more permanent basis.

The role involves light household tasks related to caring for a baby, and we’re seeking someone who enjoys engaging in creative, age-appropriate play. Our baby daughter has not spent time away from us before, so we’re looking for someone with a gentle, reassuring approach who can help her feel secure and supported during this transition. We also would like someone who is happy to take her to outings or prearranged classes.

The role will need someone who is confident with young babies. We are still early in the weaning process; she is primarily breastfed and not 100% comfortable with bottles. She also prefers contact naps, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to rock or hold her to sleep when needed as we build her confidence and routine.

We ask that candidates hold a valid paediatric first aid certification and have an up-to-date DBS check. Previous experience with infants is essential, and any relevant childcare qualifications would be a bonus.

Ultimately, we hope to find someone who can become a valued part of our family life—someone who is dependable, nurturing, and genuinely enjoys being involved in a child’s early development. We have a start date for the 30th May.
