My Summary

My Experience

There's a 13-year age gap between me and my younger brother, so I took on a bit of a second mum role as he was growing up. I would feed him, change him, take him out, help with his homework, cook for him, and settle him for bed while my parents were at work.

I've also had plenty of babysitting experience with neighbours and family friends, most recently looking after a 5 and 7-year-old. This included helping with homework, reading together, outdoor adventures, and cooking meals.

As the second eldest of four brothers, I quickly learned the importance of being caring, crafty, and organised. I often took on a nurturing role, from coming up with creative games and activities to keep my younger siblings entertained, to providing a caring, supportive presence when they needed it. Growing up in a busy household also taught me the value of staying tidy and organised, which helps me create a calm, structured environment for the children I care for. I genuinely enjoy finding creative ways to make every moment fun and meaningful, while also keeping things in order.

One of my favourite moments working with kids was when I took a 5 year old and her 7 year old brother on a little outdoor adventure to a nearby park. We built a “forest fort” out of sticks and leaves, pretended we were explorers, and even made up our own secret handshake. Watching their imaginations run wild and seeing how proud they were of their little creation was so heartwarming. I loved that moment because it reminded me of the countless creative games I used to come up with for my younger brothers - those little adventures can create some of the best memories.

My Qualifications

Although I don't have professional babysitting experience, I’ve developed strong childcare skills through years of helping with my younger brother and babysitting for neighbours and friends.

My experience has taught me the importance of patience, creativity, and responsibility. I understand how to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where kids can thrive. I’m comfortable handling the unique needs of children of various ages, from toddlers to preteens.

Additionally, I’m organised, dependable, and attentive, always making sure to follow parents' routines and guidelines. Whether it's helping with homework, planning creative activities, or simply being a supportive and positive role model, I’m committed to providing excellent care.

My Availability

I'm available in the weekdays throughout the summer and then from September 2025 to June 2026 I will be available from Tuesday afternoon through to Friday evening due to my university studies
