About Me

Hi, my name is Catherine Hayes and I live at home in Whiston (L35) with my husband and 2 sons. I have recently became an Ofsted registered childminder and I am really enjoying starting my journey supporting children and their families.
I believe children learn best through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. With over 10 years of experience working with children as a qualified teacher, I bring a wealth of knowledge, care, and creativity to my childminding setting.
I am passionate about outdoor learning, and children in my care will spend lots of time outdoors exploring the world around them. From splashing in puddles and messy play in the garden, to adventures in local parks, farms, and visits to the library. I provide a wide variety of opportunities for children to learn, grow, and discover.
Storytelling and a love of reading are at the heart of my setting. I enjoy sharing books, rhymes, and imaginative stories with children to spark their curiosity and develop early language and literacy skills.
My overall aim is to create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, encouraged, and supported to reach their full potential.

My Experience
I have worked with children for the last 10 years whilst also gaining a teaching qualification at university. I specialise in Early Years, working with children from 0-5. I have SEN experience, working closely as a 1-1 in a nursery school. I have worked in a lot of different settings, which has extended my knowledge of children of all ages.
My Qualifications
I have 3 A-levels as well as a degree in Early Years Education with QTS.
I am DBS checked, I have level 3 paediatric first aid training as well as a full UK driving licence.
I have completed safeguarding training.
My Availability
I am available Monday - Friday 7.30am - 5.30pm
I have room for flexibility if hours need adjusting so do not hesitate to ask.
My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
